Families in Katlang and the villages around Sarfaraz Khan travel 19 to 25 km to reach a hospital in Mardan, and further still to Peshawar. When a pregnancy goes wrong at night, that distance is dangerous.
The Foundation gives women and children a place to be seen close to home, 24 hours a day: women's health and maternity care, a laboratory, ultrasound, a pharmacy, an operation theatre, and an ambulance that takes patients on to the right hospital when they need more.
